Loves and needs full sun, at least 4 hours a day with 6-8 being ideal. One of the few plants that we suggest you use rainwater (or melted snow) rather than tap water. It will eat whatever bugs are attracted to its nectar inside, but you can choose to feed it yourself with insects which will help it grow more quickly, a few bugs once a month is good. Keep the soil damp at all times. Not soaking wet, just damp. Think "bog" which is its natural environment.
