Default Nursery Pot or Upgrade to a Chic Chive Pot
Our plants come in the standard nursery pot unless you opt for one of our snazzy Chive pots. Keep in mind, each plant is a unique snowflake—size, shape, and quirks may vary. We do our best to deliver a plant that resembles the online glam shot and will thrive in your home, but perfection is a tall order.
Pot Size vs. Plant Size: It’s Not You, It’s the Container
We like to keep things almost simple—plants are measured by the size of the pot they’re in, not how tall or fabulous they currently are. When someone says a plant is “in a 6-inches,” they’re talking about the diameter of the container, not the plant itself. That gorgeous fiddle leaf fig might be towering over your sofa while technically still being “in a 10-inch pot.” Height? Totally subjective. It depends on the plant species, its mood that day, and how mature it feels like being. So next time you’re plant shopping and wondering why your “small” monstera could double as a room divider—blame the pot. Not the plant.

How to take care of your Peperomia
If you’re short on space but big on personality, let us introduce you to your new plant bestie: the Peperomia. With over 1,000 species in the genus and endless leaf shapes, textures, and colors to admire, Peperomia plants are the quirky underdogs of the houseplant world—and we mean that in the best way. They're compact, easygoing, and perfect for small spaces, desks, and shelves that could use a touch of foliage flair.
Care Level
Easy: Low Maintenance
Thanks to their adaptability, fast growth, and stunning leaves—ranging from glossy hearts to velvety lobes—philodendrons make excellent indoor plants for both beginners and enthusiasts alike.
Light Requirements
Peperomia plants thrive in bright, indirect light but are also okay in medium light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch their cute little leaves, while too little can cause leggy growth. A spot near an east- or north-facing window is ideal.
Watering
Let the soil dry out between waterings—your Peperomia will thank you. These plants are somewhat succulent-like and store water in their fleshy leaves, so overwatering is the fastest way to make them sad. Stick your finger in the soil, and only water when the top 1–2 inches are dry.
Humidity and Temperature
They do enjoy a touch of humidity (they are tropical, after all), but they’re not as needy as ferns or calatheas. A regular indoor environment is usually fine, but they’ll love you for the occasional misting.
Keep things cozy between 65–80°F (18–26°C). Avoid cold drafts, and don’t place them near heating or AC vents.
Soil
A well-draining potting mix is your best friend here. A blend for succulents or indoor plants, especially one with perlite or orchid bark mixed in, is ideal.
Interaction with Pets
Yes! According to the ASPCA, Peperomia is non-toxic to both cats and dogs, making it a great choice for pet owners. You still might want to keep it out of chewing range—just because it’s safe doesn’t mean it’s snack-worthy.

Peperomia Family
Peperomia is a genus of tropical plants native to Central and South America, and they’re typically known for their ornamental foliage. From ripple-leafed varieties to glossy, succulent-like ones, Peperomias come in a wide range of styles. Some people grow them for their charming appearance; others fall in love with how low-maintenance they are. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

The Self-Watering Pot Who’s More Responsible Than Most Roommates
