Begonia Rex Assorted 4 Inches
Default Nursery Pot or Upgrade to a Chic Chive Pot
Our plants come in the standard nursery pot unless you opt for one of our snazzy Chive pots. Keep in mind, each plant is a unique snowflake—size, shape, and quirks may vary. We do our best to deliver a plant that resembles the online glam shot and will thrive in your home, but perfection is a tall order.
Pot Size vs. Plant Size: It’s Not You, It’s the Container
We like to keep things almost simple—plants are measured by the size of the pot they’re in, not how tall or fabulous they currently are. When someone says a plant is “in a 6-inches,” they’re talking about the diameter of the container, not the plant itself. That gorgeous fiddle leaf fig might be towering over your sofa while technically still being “in a 10-inch pot.” Height? Totally subjective. It depends on the plant species, its mood that day, and how mature it feels like being. So next time you’re plant shopping and wondering why your “small” monstera could double as a room divider—blame the pot. Not the plant.

How to take care of your Begonia
If you're looking to add a splash of color, personality, and maybe a tiny bit of drama to your indoor garden, the Begonia is here to take center stage. With its spectacular foliage and often dazzling blooms, the Begonia plant is a favorite among plant lovers who like their greenery with a little flair. But don’t let its diva looks fool you—it’s not as high-maintenance as it seems.
Care Level
Medium: Needs Some Attention
Caring for a Begonia is not rocket science, but it's not exactly autopilot either. Consider it a “medium-care” plant. If you’re already managing to keep a pothos or snake plant alive, you’re more than ready for a Begonia.
Light Requirements
Bright, indirect light is your Begonia’s best friend. These plants love light, but too much direct sun can scorch their delicate leaves (especially the fancy-leaf types). East- or north-facing windows are ideal, or filtered light through a sheer curtain.
Watering
Begonias are a bit particular about their watering. Keep the soil lightly moist, but never soggy. Let the top inch of soil dry out between waterings. Overwatering is a fast-track ticket to root rot. And trust us—Begonia root rot is the stuff of nightmares.
Humidity and Temperature
Begonias are tropical at heart, so they thrive in humidity. Aim for 50% or higher. If your home is dry, a pebble tray or humidifier will keep your Begonia from throwing a leaf-dropping tantrum.
Keep your Begonia warm and cozy between 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C). Avoid drafts, air conditioners, and cold windowsills—they're sensitive little things.
Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix with good airflow. A mix of peat moss, perlite, and standard potting soil will keep your Begonia happy and breathing easy.
Interaction with Pets
Unfortunately, Begonia is not pet-safe. Its roots (especially) contain soluble calcium oxalates that can cause mouth irritation, vomiting, or worse if ingested by cats or dogs. If your pets are known nibblers, keep your Begonia high and out of reach—or admire one at your local plant shop instead.

Begonia Family
Let’s start with the basics. Begonias are a diverse group of flowering plants from the tropics and subtropics. With over 1,800 known species, they come in a wild array of shapes, sizes, and colors—from shimmering silver leaves to bright pink blossoms. Some are grown for their flowers, others for their foliage, but all Begonias bring major style points to your home or garden.
