Default Nursery Pot or Upgrade to a Chic Chive Pot
Our plants come in the standard nursery pot unless you opt for one of our snazzy Chive pots. Keep in mind, each plant is a unique snowflake—size, shape, and quirks may vary. We do our best to deliver a plant that resembles the online glam shot and will thrive in your home, but perfection is a tall order.
Pot Size vs. Plant Size: It’s Not You, It’s the Container
We like to keep things almost simple—plants are measured by the size of the pot they’re in, not how tall or fabulous they currently are. When someone says a plant is “in a 6-inches,” they’re talking about the diameter of the container, not the plant itself. That gorgeous fiddle leaf fig might be towering over your sofa while technically still being “in a 10-inch pot.” Height? Totally subjective. It depends on the plant species, its mood that day, and how mature it feels like being. So next time you’re plant shopping and wondering why your “small” monstera could double as a room divider—blame the pot. Not the plant.

How to take care of your Succulents
Succulents: nature’s little overachievers. These hardy, water-storing beauties have taken the plant world by storm—and honestly, it’s well deserved. Whether you're a seasoned green thumb or someone who forgets to water your plants (no judgment), succulents are here to thrive with minimal fuss and maximum aesthetic.
Care Level
Easy: Low Maintenance
If plants had a dating profile, succulents would say: "Low-maintenance, sun-loving, emotionally independent." Succulents are some of the easiest indoor plants to care for, making them ideal for beginners, busy people, and anyone with a fear of commitment.
Light Requirements
Succulents are sun worshipers. They thrive in bright, direct light, and need at least 6 hours a day. South-facing windows? Yes, please. If your succulent starts stretching toward the light like it’s auditioning for a horror movie, it’s not getting enough sun.
Pro tip: Rotate the pot every week or so to prevent leaning. Unless you're into that whole lopsided aesthetic.
Watering
Repeat after me: less is more. Overwatering is the number one way to kill your succulent. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water deeply, then ignore it for 1–2 weeks (even longer in winter). If in doubt, wait it out.
Watering schedule:
- Spring/Summer: Every 1–2 weeks
- Fall/Winter: Every 3–4 weeks
Humidity and Temperature
Low, please and thank you. Succulents are desert natives and don’t appreciate steamy conditions. If your bathroom feels like a spa, your succulents will want a transfer. Aim for 10–30% humidity—dry is their happy place.
Warm and sunny is the vibe. Most succulents thrive between 60–80°F (15–27°C). They can tolerate cooler temps (down to 40°F/4°C for some), but frost? That’s a hard no. Think “sunbathing, not snowboarding.”
Soil
You wouldn’t plant a cactus in a swamp, right? (We hope not.) Succulents need well-draining soil. Use a cactus/succulent mix or add sand/perlite to regular potting soil to boost drainage.
Interaction with Pets
Bad news, fur baby parents: many succulents are not pet-friendly. Species like jade plant, aloe vera, and euphorbia can be toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Symptoms may include vomiting, lethargy, or worse.
Want peace of mind? Stick to pet-safe succulents like:
- Haworthia
- Echeveria (in moderation)
- Burro’s Tail (Sedum morganianum)
As always, keep plants out of reach if you have curious four-legged roommates.

Succulent Family
Let’s start with the basics. Succulents are a diverse group of plants that have adapted to arid climates by developing thick, fleshy tissues to store water. Translation: they can handle neglect like champs. They're often found in dry, sunny areas across Africa, the Americas, and beyond, and include fan favorites like aloe, echeveria, and jade plants.
Succulents are not a botanical family themselves but rather a description of a plant’s characteristics. Cacti? Yep, they're succulents. That weird-looking thing with bumps? Probably a succulent too.
