The Madagascar Palm is a succulent, not a true palm, with a thick silver-gray trunk covered in sharp spines and topped by a crown of long, narrow green leaves. It grows slowly and upright, adding a few inches a year and eventually reaching four to six feet indoors. It is native to the dry south of Madagascar. People buy it for its sculptural, desert look and because it does best with plenty of sun and very little fuss.

Chive Plant Studio offers the Madagascar Palm in small, medium, and large sizes. Each plant is grown by Chive’s nursery partners, potted before it leaves, and delivered by hand.

Verte RX is a liquid plant vitamin formulated for exactly that window — the weeks after germination when the root system is establishing and the margin between thriving and stalling is narrowest.
