Verte Does the Work. The Pot Takes the Credit.

Feed your plants with Verte, then set them up in a pot that makes it look like you've always had a green thumb. Nobody needs to know it was mostly the plant food.

Organic fertilizer for plants earns a different kind of respect once you've watched what a weekend of shipping does to a houseplant. Every Monday a truck arrives at the shop carrying plants that spent two or three days jostled around in cardboard boxes — not a good weekend for anyone involved. We spray every one with Verte Rx Organic Plant Superfood before it reaches the sales floor. You can just as easily dilute it and pour it into the soil; we like the ritual of the spray bottle.

I couldn't walk you through the chemistry. What I can tell you is that by the following Monday, the same plants that arrived rough look like they spent the week on vacation. One bottle makes sixty litres diluted — the highest yield in the line, because this is the formula we reach for weekly, not the one saved for emergencies. Built for the plant that's had a rough week, whatever form the rough week took.

How to Use

DILUTE BEFORE USE: Mix 1-2ml per litre of water.

Mist your plants with this solution in the early morning or evening, every 2-3 weeks.

*Do not ingest. Rinse well if contact with eyes or skin occurs as it may cause irritation. Keep out of reach of children.

What people are saying

Why Choose Verte RX Organic Plant Superfood?

Every formula in the Verte Rx line exists because something needed it, and the Superfood exists because shipped plants arrive looking like they lost a fight. This is a recovery formula, not a routine feed — built specifically for the stressed, the travel-worn, and the long-neglected, which is a different chemistry problem than maintaining a plant that's already thriving. What makes it special is the testing regime: it earned its place by performing weekly on real deliveries, plants that came out of cardboard boxes rough on a Monday and had to look presentable by the following one. A formula that works under that kind of schedule pressure, week after week for two years, isn't theoretical. It's fully organic — you're the one breathing the spray, after all — and it's flexible in application: mist it directly onto foliage or dilute it into the soil, whichever ritual suits the household. The sixty-litre yield is the highest in the entire line, sized deliberately for weekly use rather than emergencies, with the same printed-measurement dropper that keeps every Verte Rx concentrate honest. Use it on a new delivery, a plant recovering from a move, an orchid coming out of a neglected stretch — anything that's had a rough week, whatever form the rough week took. By the next one, it shows.

Pro Tip: Little Goes a Long Way

Feed during active growth (spring through early fall) for the best results, since that's when plants are actually putting nutrients to use.

Well-Fed Plants Need a Home Worth Growing In

Once a Plant's Recovered, Feed It Differently

Superfood gets a stressed plant back on its feet, but once it's thriving again, a different organic option keeps it that way long-term. Organic Funky Fish Plant Food is our fish emulsion formula, built for anyone who wants to stay fully organic on an ongoing feeding schedule rather than switching back to synthetic once the recovery phase is over. Different smell, same organic commitment, next stage of the same plant's life.

The Full Verte Rx Lineup

Superfood solves the recovery problem, but a healthy plant that's never been stressed has different needs entirely — a balanced everyday feed, a low-dose succulent formula, a propagation dose for cuttings. The full Verte Rx lineup covers the entire lifecycle of an indoor plant collection, from the first cutting rooted in water to the emergency spray that gets a travel-worn delivery looking presentable again.

A Recovering Plant Deserves a Fresh Pot

A plant that just got fed back to health after a rough shipping week is also, often, still sitting in the plastic nursery pot it arrived in, which isn't doing it any favours. The Virago is a porcelain pot built for exactly that transition moment — moving a newly-recovered plant into something it'll actually live in long-term instead of the box it survived the trip in.

A Monday Ritual, Bottled

Chive Studio receives plants the way every shop does — by the truckload, stressed from transit — and this superfood grew out of that weekly Monday problem rather than a product plan. It's the studio habit that turned into a bottle. Open since 2004, the studio has held a spot at Chelsea in nearly every year since 2012, plus a long-awaited comeback at Philadelphia's flower show this year, moving product into thousands of stores through wholesale accounts along the way. Most of that recognition happened years after the superfood itself was already sitting in the back room getting used on the studio's own inventory, quietly doing its job long before anyone thought to bottle it for sale.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best organic fertilizer for plants?

The best organic fertilizer for plants depends on what problem you're solving — ours is built specifically for recovery, for plants that are stressed, recently shipped, or coming out of neglect rather than steady everyday feeding. It's the formula we reach for on new deliveries every single week, before anything goes out onto the sales floor.

What is in Verte Rx Organic Plant Superfood and is it safe?

It's an organic-based formula developed specifically for stressed and travel-worn plants, safe to spray directly on foliage or dilute into soil as preferred. We use it every week on our own shop deliveries before customers ever see the plants, which is about as direct a safety test as a formula gets.

Is a plant superfood different from a regular organic fertilizer?

Yes — a regular organic fertilizer is built for steady, ongoing feeding of a healthy plant, while this superfood formula is built for recovery: stressed, shipped, or neglected plants that need something more targeted than a routine feeding. Think of it as the difference between a daily multivitamin and something formulated for an actual deficiency.

Can I use this on my orchid?

Yes, this formula suits an orchid recovering from a stressful move or a period of neglect, though most orchids do best on a lighter, more frequent dose rather than the same schedule as a sturdier houseplant. Dilute per the dropper markings and watch for new root or leaf growth as the signal it's working.

How many litres does one bottle of organic superfood make?

One bottle makes sixty litres diluted, the highest yield anywhere in the Verte Rx line. That's deliberate — this is the formula used weekly on every plant delivery the shop receives, not an occasional-use product, so it needed to stretch further than anything else on the shelf.

Is this the same as Verte Rx Organic Houseplant Food?

No — Organic Houseplant Food is built for everyday feeding of edible indoor plants like herbs, while this superfood is a recovery formula for stressed or recently-shipped plants of any kind, edible or not. Both are organic, but they're solving two different problems on two different schedules.

Is organic plant superfood safe to use around household pets?

The diluted spray or feed poses low risk once mixed and applied as directed, though the concentrate should be kept out of reach the way any bottle in the house would be. If you're spraying foliage directly, keep pets away from wet leaves until they've had a chance to dry.

What makes a plant food a superfood compared to standard organic?

The "superfood" distinction here is about the problem it solves rather than a marketing upgrade — it's formulated for plants under stress, not plants already thriving. Standard organic feed maintains a healthy plant's steady growth; this one is built to bring a struggling plant back to that baseline in the first place.
