Curate Your Indoor Landscape With These:

Designed to layer beautifully in any room. Choose a piece as your design anchor, then build your custom pottery collection with these complementary companions:

The 3-inch Burgundy is a glazed ceramic plant pot with a center drainage hole and a matching saucer, and it is the love-hate of the entire line, which is exactly why we love it. There is no layering here, no salt feud, no deadline panic behind it, just a pure, simple form in a color people either gravitate toward immediately or walk straight past, with almost nobody landing in the middle. It is the rare pot that tells you everything it intends to in the first second, and then declines, politely, to add anything further.

The small size is where most people first meet that decision. You either pick it up or you do not. Glazed ceramic holds moisture more evenly than raw terracotta, and the finish is even and deep rather than layered. Burgundy has never once tried to change your mind, and at three inches it makes its case in the plainest possible terms: here it is, take it or leave it.

Potting Tips

  1. Repot in the evening.
  2. Wait 1–2 days after watering, then repot.
  3. Buy potting mix. Not backyard dirt.
  4. Move the top layer of soil from the old pot into the new one. It's a little ecosystem.
  5. Never go more than one inch bigger.
  6. Soil line sits an inch below the rim. Leca or small rocks at the bottom for drainage.

Pot Care instructions
  1. Dishwasher-safe. Can also be hand-washed with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
  2. Glazed pots are dipped and fired in the kiln — they are sealed, durable, and not looking for trouble. No special cleaning products required.
  3. For pots with saucers empty the saucer periodically. Standing water in the saucer defeats the purpose of having a drainage hole, which is a thing we feel strongly about.
  4. Not frost-safe. Designed for indoor use and covered outdoor temperate weather use. Freezing temperatures are not recommended.

Burgundy: The One You Decide on Instantly

Burgundy is the love-hate of the line, and we mean that as the compliment it is. Nearly every other Minute glaze has a story about technique, a layering trick or a salt argument or a name born under duress. Burgundy has none of that. It is a pure, simple form in a single committed colour, and its entire personality is the reaction it provokes. People gravitate to it on sight or they walk past it without slowing down, and almost no one stands in the uncertain middle. We find this clarifying. A glaze that divides people cleanly is, in its way, more honest than one engineered to be universally agreeable.

The small size is where the decision usually first presents itself, a low-stakes introduction to a colour that does not negotiate. There is no surface trick to admire, nothing to turn over and study, just the form and the colour and your own immediate verdict. Each pot is finished evenly and deeply, the colour doing the entire job. A centre drainage hole and a matching saucer sit underneath, the same as every Minute regardless of how strongly it makes you feel. Burgundy has never asked to be liked by everyone. It has never tried to win the room. It simply shows up in its one unmistakable colour and lets you decide, which is, we think, a kind of confidence most pots never manage.

Potting a plant with Chive

  1. It's best to repot your plant in the evening. Trust us, we know.
  2. Repot 1–2 days after watering — keeps the same rhythm going and won't shock it.
  3. Potting soil is not the dirt from your backyard. Go buy good, nutrient-rich soil.
  4. The top layer of soil in your current pot should be the top layer in the new pot too. It's a little ecosystem your plant likes.
  5. Never go more than one inch bigger than your existing pot. "It'll grow into it" is not correct, and you will kill it.
  6. Keep the soil line about an inch below the top of the pot. Add some leca or small rocks to the bottom for better aeration.

The Ultimate Repotting Guide

For those who have killed a plant. Or several. Or, frankly, many.

Before you put a plant into your new pot, you have to get it out of the nursery pot — a process that ends badly more often than any gardening influencer will admit. We wrote a full guide: when to repot (early spring, and not when you're feeling impulsive in October), which soil to use, how to tell your plant is root-bound, and how to avoid the three mistakes that kill perfectly healthy plants within a week of a well-intentioned repotting.

The Same Glaze, Other Sizes

Burgundy runs across the sizes without changing its argument. The small is the first, low-stakes version of the decision.

Frequently asked questions

The pot is sorted. Now what goes in it?

Shido seeds come vacuum-sealed, non-GMO, and packaged well enough that people keep the packets after the seeds are gone. Which is either a design success or a problem, depending on how you look at it.
