Who has time to be going to hardware stores and lugging home on TTC a massive bag of dirt especially when you only need to use a few cups of it for your new planter?? Each bag of soil is the perfect amount for a 5" pot or a couple of 3" pots. Makes a great add on if you're sending a planted gift to someone! Cactus forms a better basis for cactus roots (and other dry loving plants like succulents) than regular soil and keeps roots and stems from sitting in moisture, which can cause rot.
